"For the mind set on the flesh is death,
but the mind set on the Spirit is life and peace,"
Romans 8:6 (NASB)
Scripture tells us repeatedly about the power of our mind. In a nutritional sense, perhaps you have heard the phrase "you are what you eat," and scripture gives us a similar truth: you are what you think1. The things we set our mind on2 greatly impact the trajectory of our life. The enemy knows this, and wages war on our thoughts through deception and lies3 in order to undermine God's truth and rob us of our peace and purpose in Christ.

Thankfully, God gives us grace and the ability to see our life transformed by the renewing of our mind4. Our minds do not have to be dictated by our flesh, and our thought patterns can be made new and brought into alignment with the mind of Christ5 that we could walk out His calling on our lives. Our salvation is a free gift, not by our works but by His alone6. Similarly, our transformation and renewal is reliant upon the work of His Spirit. However, our discipleship and transformation is not a passive journey. We are given practical direction on how to discipline our mind7 and proactively fight against the enemies lies.
In this series, we will take a hard look at the schemes of the enemy to pull us off the Lord's path with lies about ourselves and about our God. Through His word and by His spirit, we will commit to fight the battle of our mind to walk in power, love, and a sound mind.
